This was another free show from 102.1 KPRI at this venue. It’s a cool place to see a show and this time we got to eat dinner. It was good…I’ll leave it at that since this isn’t a food review website. But I will say that eating with the music is a good combo because the volume of the band isn’t deafening. Ryan started off singing a cappella some cover song I’ve heard but don’t know the name of. It was a very popular song. Dare I say I heard it on American Idol??? He was a bit nasally for the first couple songs then started to reel it on “I’m your man, yes I am!” Then he went into a song titled “Nobody” which he said was his first single. It was ok; I preferred the “I’m your man” song. Michael, the 5 string bass player, had a solo for about 5ish minutes. Solo, as in the only band member on the stage. It was pretty cool. The band came back on with “We got love,” best song so far. I think that’s the name, I’m guessing the names of these songs except “Nobody.” Ryan made some comments about some recent current events then launched into a cover of “Let it be.” Then I thought I was in a sermon before the beginning of “It’s over”, (which was a good song) with all the “if your in a bad relationship, have a problem with a family member, etc. let me hear you say…IT'S OVER!”For the encore Ryan came out and played the acoustic guitar by himself. Then the band joined him for “I found the love”, which he just powered through the end of the song.It took a few songs, but the band found their stride and kept it going to the end.Check out Ryan's music at: www.thisisryanshaw or www.myspace.com/thisisryanshaw
