Getting a sample of someone’s music on myspace might or might not be a gauge of how much potential interest one might have in a band. For Cass McCombs, the sample was alright and the live performance did not improve on an already less than desirable opinion.

The first few songs were pretty good, but that was about it. After a song with the chorus “Crick in my neck” the rest of the set became overshadowed by the talking amongst the crowd, which at this point was just about as loud as the music coming from Cass and company. I had lost interest and found myself listening to the conversation of the people sitting behind me.
