I bought tickets for this show on a hunch. Meaning, I hadn't heard anything from James but had heard of him. Then about a week ago I saw the show had sold out...and for good reason.
James Morrison is a true talent. His vocals are very powerful and came through loud and clear on every song especially on the tune "If you don't wanna love me." It wasn't until near the end of the set that I realized they didn't have a drummer. The song where they added the loop probably clued me into this. And he asked the audience to not say "dick" while recording the loop because it would come through the speakers. It was one funny moment of many.
He was clearly in awe of the reception we gave him. And he gave it right back. This was a real treat, because I doubt you'll be able to catch James Morrison in such an intimate setting as the Belly Up in future tours. Catch him live while you can.
