Jenny Lewis rocks my country socks off... She has such an amazing voice and I love Rilo Kiley... but I have to say I hadn't heard much of her solo stuff before this gig and I was pretty surprised with the country sound. It just wasn't what I expected.

She does rock out country really well, and her band is awesome. But my favorite was when she played solo acoustic.. She is so pretty and little and her voice and guitar was so strong and powerful. The song 'Rabbit Fur Coat' was a winner for sure, really simple, quirky and catchy.

The crowd loved her, the place was packed- it was a sold out show and the vibe was buzzing.

The best song of the night for me was a duet/cover of Love Hurts with Johnathan Rice. They did the EmmyLou Harris and Gram Parsons version which is one of my favorite songs of all time. It was such a nice surprise and they really did it perfectly.. they played it with soul and didn't mess around with the original.

It was a fantastic show, I really found it inspiring. Their cute country hats, cute outfits and long hair made it even more enjoyable. So much so that I'm going to watch her again when I go to Coachella this weekend!

He looked familiar, but I didn't place him til later in the show when his name was confirmed by Jenny - "my friend, Jonathan Rice." I thought is was interesting that he was a member of her band since he himself is a solo artist. He fit right in though.

I would have to agree with you about your favorite part of the set being when she played solo acoustic. Rabbit Fur Coat was a good song along with the one that followed it. She had my complete attention and the entire audience as well because the venue was silent. This is pretty much unheard of at the Belly Up (unfortunately) so it was nice to experience. Great show!

I am not at all surprised the audience was quiet during the set--her fans are pretty hard core.

Jonathan Rice and Jenny Lewis are dating...or so I've heard.
