She’s got a very soothing voice. At times it feels like Mazy Starr with a hint of Lucinda Williams. Some of the highlights for me were “Take Me Home” which is a song she wrote for the soldiers, a bluesy song which I don’t know the name of (she says she’s been listening to Muddy Waters since she was 15), which was really good, and a song with the chorus of “In My Mind I Was Talking To Loretta” referring to Loretta Lynn from the movie the Coal Miner’s Daughter.Check out her music at: www.pietabrown.com or www.myspace.com/pietabrown
