This show was put on by our local independent music radio station 94.9 and it was sold out. I had never heard of Sea Wolf until last weekend when we got tickets while leaving the Tim Reynolds gig. I listened to their tracks on their myspace page and thought they were just ok. Well, they certainly changed my mind tonight. These guys brought it. Whatever didn’t translate while listening online came across loud and clear.

The whole set was solid. The 3rd song was really good. Maybe the title was “Cold, dark and silent?” They ended with “You’re a wolf” which got a really good reaction from the crowd, then came back out for a two song encore which included “Rose Captain” and “Black Dirt?” I bought their CD “Leaves in the River” which came with a 7” vinyl of “You’re a Wolf” and a poster. Maybe I’ll follow up with comments on the album soon.
