The Flatliners (1) 3/30/2009
Opening Act For Less Than Jake

As soon as The Flatliners took stage, you knew they were bringing hell with them.  Starting out with the intro from Jurassic Park, they let the audience know they were here, they were going to be big, and they were going to rock the foundations of Canes Bar & Grill.  And rock us they did.  The music itself is a call out to all skaters, punks, and every rebellious individual to grab their gear, go outside, and raise a little caine.  Hailing from Toronto, this fresh raucous sound is spewed out by Chris Cresswell (vocals/ guitar), Jon Darbey (bass), Scott Brigham (guitar) and Paul Ramirez (drums).  Reminiscent of Face to Face, Bad Religion, NOFX, and Circle Jerks, The Flatliners bring a new energy to the old skate-band minstrels.  Tracks like “Eulogy” and “This Respirator” from their 2007 release Great Awake got the fans swirling in the pit.  But no need for attitudes here.  Unlike the major scene emo brats that whine to irritation, The Flatliners music is straight-up “cause a little trouble and have a good time.”  That’s my kind of music.  Hey guys, use those Jurassic Park sneakers and stomp on all those skinny pants kittens back to TRL.
