The  two person band consists of MA Turner on electric guitar and vocals, and  R. Clint Colburn Cross on drums.  The sound was slow, loud, and easily could be on the soundtrack to “No Country for Old Men,” or some other pseudo western. Psychadelic Folk…if you will. The twangy, screaming guitar and pounding drums made an incredible amount of noise for only 2 instruments, combined with MA Turners muffled vocals, it was quite a performance.

The crowd was painfully small for the second band of the night, but those who were there were enjoying it. The music reminded me of part Lou Reed, part Silver Sun Pickups – in fact one of the guitar melodies sounded almost exactly like “Lazy Eye.”  The duo is traveling up the coast with Castanets and is definitely worth checking out.
