Opening Act For Don Caballero

As soon as sBACH took the stage I recognized two of the members.  There was Spencer Seim of Hella and The Advantage, as well as Ben Milner, also of The Advantage.  Spencer was dressed in what looked like neon swimming trunks.  His neat hat was eventually discarded to reveal his large mane of hair.  It was very biblical.  Milner had a nice green translucent guitar and wore a spiffy hat of his own, more of a leather fighter pilot style.  There was another member who soon got to rocking on the guitar, though who looked like he had no business rocking out.  His almost bowl cut matched with his casual day at the office attire made for an almost contradictory image, but I like these instances.  At times he would lean over like the hunchback of Notre Dame to look intensely at Spencer, awaiting his cues.

The music did many changes, but at the same time had many moments of repetitiveness.  At the second song there was a good head bobbing part.  The third song had more repetitiveness, but it was catchy this time.  At the end there was a Latin drum beat sound sample mixed in, but it was a little overpowered by the rest of the music.  Spencer asked for the sounds samples to be turned up after this song.  The next song was like going on an adventure on the first level of a video game, very fun.  All three besides Spencer were on keyboards for this one.  After this, the next song went darker in more of a rocking Castlevania style that resulted in a drum mic being drummed off.

The rest of the music had the same challenging nature, and though I enjoyed the music, I was not in the mood to mentally work for musical pleasure.  Still, it's nice to not be emotionally manipulated in songs, but that is what most people are after, including me usually.  Despite repetitiveness, there were many catchy moments and they rocked enough to break a drum stick or two.  Those who don't like to be stuck with the usual from the usual bands can depend on sBACH.
