Another college rock/indie band, the Broken West did not impress. I checked them out prior to the show and was hoping they would be better live…but they weren’t. There was nothing wrong with their performance, the vocals were on pitch, and the instrumentals were well rehearsed, so maybe it’s just my personal preference. However, I found myself against the back wall of the back room at the Casbah wishing my iphone had louder volume. Maybe I’m just getting old, because something tells me The Broken West would fit in great with the college coeds. Their sound was rudimentary, catchy, and cheery.
