San Diego punk band The Old In Out started things nicely with a song that quickly slipped into a catchy punk groove. They offered an excuse for the chance their performance had anything lacking, saying that they had been gone for a month and have not played together since then. The next two songs that followed were fun but fell short of the first. They continued with a Maxine Brown cover, Brown being a soul singer. At first I thought this was what explained its more distinct nature, but the next song had personality as well, finally. It was a catchy start that had a nice change up in the middle of it. After this was a "semi-new" song called "She's gotta go", another catchy though heavily repetitive song. The second last song was so so, but had me waiting for the part when the music stopped and the band yelled which was the best part. Their final song started decently and became better, but ended quickly. Most of the songs had a fun nature, which was done great if you like that, but for those who don't at least there were a few different ones. All in all it was a decent opener.
