San Diego band Vision of a Dying world may sound like an emo band, but they are nothing near the sort.  They are a mixture of folk, pop and country.  There are two brothers, Keith and Jackson Milgaten.  The songs varied from indie pop to slightly country depending on who was lead singing.  Either way it went was good.  They were going back and forth so it gave the set a dynamic feel.  I was never bored and always was looking forward to the next song.  They played the song I was really hoping for, "Mantra" which is just so solid and not made up of the same old dull song structure most music is composed of now.

A lot of the crowd appeared to have left which was unfortunate.  There was a clear reason why this band was the headliner; They just plainly were a good band.  At one point early on, one band member took off his jacket and I realized we were at 75% plaid, confirming the indie classification.  At the end a few cried out, "One more!" They replied, "That was the weakest call for an encore I have ever heard."  The last song they did was "Held the Hand", a Daniel Johnston cover.  The influence was obvious before the song was played.  The drummer, the only non-plaid band member was wearing a black Daniel Johnston t-shirt.  The song was a pleasant finisher.
