From the looks of the lead singer, you might think he was a seemingly normal guy. However his stage personae is completely mad. These Arms are Snakes are a hardcore punk band, with a certain air of flamboyance. Based in Seattle, they released their first album in 2004 and their third in 2008. They also fall under the progressive, art punk, math genre, making them sound like a high school class schedule, and in a way it sounds like the way I felt when I was in high school. Maybe the Steve Snere drew from the rage of his youth to create such a possessed performance. His presence was a stark contrast to his well trimmed mustache, cardigan and fedora. Perhaps this is where the “art” part comes in. I was worried for his safety at times, as he climbed of speakers and straddled amps. Other members include Chris Common, Brian Cook, and Ryan Frederiksen. Their sound was very loud and insane, and the crowd filled out noticeably when they took the stage. And while there was never a full on mosh pit, there were some ripples. It was noisey intense chaos, but it was a crazy good time.
