After seeing Transfer a few months ago at the Adams Ave. Street Fair I was looking forward to watching them perform live again after I had a chance to familiarize myself with their music, along with catching the show inside a venue versus hearing them outside. It's a different vibe, at least for me it is.
Their music has definitely grown on me. When I say that, what I mean is sometimes you buy an album and like it right away. You listen to it over and over and burn out quickly on the material. Or you get an album and it takes several listens of the entire album to fully digest and appreciate what you're hearing. The latter applies in this case. The EP (Sunken Eyes) is solid from beginning to end. Bring a Knife being my favorite tune. And Faded Signal has a lot of good songs on it. So far, I'm really digging Bed of Nails, Blaine Osborn and Henry Doesn't Stand, which is just begging for some vocals. The mystery song from the street fair performance that I really liked wasn't on either album. They played it last night and if I remember correctly it's a new song titled "No Suspicions"
The live set was great. If you haven't seen this San Diego band live you're missing out.
