[Which way is the moon?]

Jane's Addiction is one of my favorite rock bands...ever.  All four of their albums are rock solid. Speaking of which, it was interesting that they didn't play one song off of Strays. It's a great album. I didn't feel gypped though. It appeared as if the band were giving the true fans a dose of what they wanted to hear. As a matter of fact, they almost played Nothing Shocking in its entirety.  See set list below. That album received countless plays in my cassette deck in the late 80's. I will forever associate the song Standing in the Shower...thinking with the Brad Gerlach (professional surfer) segment of a surf video (which I can't remember the name) from that time.

For some reason I thought that Nine Inch Nails would be closing out the show, maybe because they were put as the headliner? NIN/JA was somewhat clever compared to JA/NIN? Who knows? But that wasn't the case. Not that it really matters...

Thank God for people like Perry Ferrell, a true character and guy with an amazing unique voice. He sounded great! Speaking of his "character" quality at some point in the show he says "Which way to the moon? Which way to the moon, man?...I'm going there after the show." That made me chuckle.

I'd seen Jane's Addiction several years ago during Lollapalooza which took place at this same venue. That show was great. I remember the stage being quite elaborate compared to tonight's set up, but it made no difference in the grand scheme of things. These guys know how to put on a great rock show. Plain and simple. Go see them.
