San Diego, CA

House of Blues in San Diego is an okay place to see a band.  You can be down on the stage floor or watch from the balcony above.  The security though are a bunch of jerks last time I was there.  Ticket prices are usually above the fair price.  The vibe is not that amazing, but again, it is an okay place when good bands come around.

Zero 7 (1) 12/17/2009

Ten years of new millennia music has quickly passed us by. Some young bands or artist’s found solace in the roots of a genre (Josh Groban with classical; Linnzi Zaorski in vocal jazz; Wayne Hancock with country swing, etc.) while others successfully merged... Full Review

Opening Act For Zero 7
For every musician there’s that moment when you first receive a musical instrument, mic, or mixer that you automatically envision yourself as a rockstar. The roar of the crowd, the VMAs, the endless groupie sex… For most of us, it becomes a faded dream... Full Review

Okay, so I’ll probably be a little biased on this review because I am a Rev fan. Shameful to say that as many times as the band has played San Diego, I’ve actually never seen them live. But as if the Zeegig gods themselves commanded it to happened, the... Full Review

Dear Zeegig gods, please do not flag my review for excessive inappropriate language. I assure you, these naughty words are all very necessary…haha. “Pussy! Pussy! Pussy!” As loudly as possible, Cheech Marin’s pussy-speech from the gritty classic flick... Full Review

[Flogging Molly at the House of Blues San Diego]
I highly anticipated this show since I've really enjoyed Flogging Molly's music for quite some time. House of Blues is a solid venue for this band as they sounded really good in that building. They played many of their popular songs and dug deeper... Full Review

No cameras. No videotaping. Yeah, I’m used to that at the clubs. No weapons, drugs, or terrorist bio-chemicals of any kind. Yeah, I’m used to that at the airport. Now combine all those plus a cavity search and welcome to a Down show at the House of Blues... Full Review

Opening Act For Down
When I first initially saw the members of this Portland band, they reminded me of some friends that “were in a band” but really just hung around in the garage. Something about Danava (pronounce Don-nuh-vuh) was familiar and comfortable. As they set up... Full Review

Opening for an incredibly killer band is something that every band dreams of. It’s also what they feared the most. If you are going to make your mark, you gotta bring your hardest otherwise you remain in the underbelly. And when you open for two major... Full Review
