Here’s a local San Diego band that has gotten a good bit of press lately. Or at least I’ve heard the name Louis XIV a lot and after the show tonight I can see that it’s much deserved.

I’m not at all familiar with their music except for the two songs (“Air Traffic Control” & “Finding Out True Love is Blind”) that received a good amount of air play on the local radio stations. 94.9 in particular. They have a very interesting line up that includes two violinists. At one point I thought there was a girl on the stage singing, but it turned out to be the guitar player who looks like he’s Amish. He’s the one who sings “Air Traffic Control.” He sounded good, just wasn’t expecting it. Louis XIV rocked the house. I even thought they were better than the headliner: The Editors. I’m gonna have to get that album(s).
