Opening Act For Shiny Toy Guns

“We’re at a rave baby!” is what I say to my girl as the band starts to play. The first couple of songs were very dancy. And for this type of music you would think the guys would be a bit more active, but they held their positions with very little movement. The guitar player came to life a little during the third song. The drummer was the most animated of the lot, but he was practically invisible in the back because of the smoke and lack of lights. The vocals also felt a bit hidden behind the music and were pretty much indecipherable. I was trying to figure out where some of the sounds were coming from because I did not see a keyboard player and I think they were playing some of the music through a laptop??? Moving Units (now I see the irony) were a run of the mill dance rock band that just didn’t grab me. And as I watched the lead singer walk off the stage, I thought to myself “He didn’t leave it all out there.”
