After a couple minute instrumental intro we got to see the lead singer/guitar player sporting a thick red beard and wearing a captain’s hat and jacket. I had not seen a picture of the band so it threw me for a loop. Regardless of his get up, the guy can sing. And so can the cute alt chick (Kira?). Shiny Toy Guns put on a solid show in front of a pretty full venue. Playing mostly songs from the recent album (which I’ve listened to about 7 or so times over the last week and a half) as well as a new song “Revelation Calls?” and some older tunes.

When they came out for the encore someone yelled out “Rocket Ship” and red beard said “I hate that song!”, but they played it. Along with a cover of Depeche Mode’s “Stripped” then finished with “Don’t Cry Out.”
