The Dead Kennedy's (1) 6/7/2008
[Dead Kennedy's and Jody Fosters Army]

Been anticipating this show for quite some time.  JFA was one of the really cool bands to skate to in the 80's and 90's when I used to street skate a lot and so were the Dead Kennedy's.  JFA was solid and still had that really cool skate punk sound that I enjoyed back then.  A couple of the guys are obviously much older but they could really nail the songs I remember best.  Dead Kennedy's were cool to see.  I wished I had seen them with their original lead singer but they still sounded good and the pit was pretty big and a lot of bodies flying. Overall a great show to go to.  I'd see them both again if I had a chance.

This was an interesting show/evening. I’m not at all familiar with the Dead Kennedy’s music except for one of their two “hits” “Holiday in Cambodia.” If memory serves me correctly, they played it during the encore. The really interesting slash captivating part of the evening for me was the mosh pit. I barely watched any of the bands because of it. There was a pretty decent mix of people running around and even a few chicks, but what caught my attention was the pit etiquette. Whenever someone fell down, two or three people immediately reached down to pick that person up. Who’d a thought? So, this little spectacle made the evening. And no, I didn’t participate. Not my thing.
