FM 94.9 Holiday Hootenanny (1) 12/15/2007
[Queens of the Stone Age]

I had anticipated this show for quite a while because I really dig Queens of the Stone Age.  The Kooks were a solid band from Britain, a little hostile, but a really good sound.  Pinback was good as always, as was Louis XIV.  Queens of the Stone Age really stole the show though.  Although RIMAC Arena doesn't have the best acoustics, most bands sounded pretty good. Louis XIV really surprised me and my wife as one of the best bands that night also.  FM949 is in my opinion the best station in San Diego and really put a great lineup together for this show. The diverse lineup really made for a show that was a lot of fun and really got me interested more in Mute Math and Rogue Wave.  RIMAC arena is a solid centrally located venue which made it a bit more convenient for us to get to.  Overall, great show, good venue, and well worth the money spent. Not to mention some of the proceeds go to the FM949 About the Music Fund to continue music education in schools.
