Opening Act For Sleeping People

Rob Crow, the man of a million bands graced The Soda Bar with his presence.  He started off unfortunately with a tuner problem and was forced to wing it.  There were sound problems most of the time with the guitar or his vocals too quiet.  Something was just not right with the sound balance.  You would think, how much more simple could you get with a guitar and microphone, but still that was too complicated for the sound guy to manage this night.  Eventually he decided to only play the loud fast songs since they sounded better with the current sound problem.

Crow boasted of seeing the new Star Trek movie twice before it was even out for twenty-four hours.  After seeing it later I agree it was a good one.  As most of his numerous songs are short, he often went from one to another, practically without stopping.  Early on he forgot some lyrics and filled in "something...something”.   With his countless lyrics, it is easy to forgive.  Crow's personality is easy going in nature as well, so mistakes are never breaking a sacred moment with him.  He is in control though, mistakes or not.  At one song he quickly said in the middle of it how he "hated this part", so he skipped it and went on with the music.  Some musicians will simply not play a song if they do not like a part of it, but Rob Crow is master of his music and can do whatever he pleases because he knows it is his song, not ours.

Crow played mostly his solo work, but also did some from past band music, such as "O.B.1" from Thingy, which is a usual for him though, as well as Heavy Vegetable "Song for Wesley", which was also played. It is always a pleasure to see him perform and there is always something to look forward to as he never seems to stop writing.  May he never stop.
