The crowd packed in a bit more for Band of Horses. They came out with the keyboards that had a picture of an elephant hanging from it. When the heaviest member of the band sat down at them, it did not seem right or fair to have that combination, but maybe there was a better reason than my own cynical thoughts. The band introduced themselves and said, "We play songs." After playing a solid song they introduced the next saying, "Wow, there's a lot of you. Here comes a totally different song." It actually was different, beginning mellow but later building up quickly, but still was another good one.Singer, Ben Bridwell spoke of the crowd again later saying, "You all look beautiful, all blue and grayish. I guess we do too." The song they played after had some good keyboard work at the end. They played a slightly less upbeat song next that was followed by a sad one called, "No One's Gonna Love You" which is misleading since the complete lyrics in the song are, "No one's gonna love you more than I do." These are much nicer, though still melencholic words for the well done piece of music. A couple songs later a flower appears with Bridwell, maybe thrown when I was not looking. He fiddled around with it for a moment and then tossed it into the crowd.A couple more songs later they played a song that is from the record they are working on and so being new it was not a stretch to say that the smile exchanged between two of them was regarding a mistake. The song itself was forgettable. They played another new one to finish with, but luckily this was more interesting, partly to do with the different back up vocals. They are a good indie rock band with an older style and it was a pleasure to see them, but honestly, besides one stand out song, they are nothing to write home about. Looks like I already did though, so now I will stop.
