At first; I was unsure how I felt about what I was experiencing. Let me explain. Cassettes Won't Listen is a one man show. (Jason Drake) He's got a guitar strapped on and a keyboard, drum machine and some other electronic equipment. Jason started out with a drum beat then added a loop here, a loop there, eventually strumming the guitar and adding some vocals. The first song felt like it took a long time to "get started." The next three songs were similar in progression except the guitar and vocals came in a lot sooner. I'm curious why there is no band, as in musicians. All the different parts could easily be played by other people and I think it would have added to the experience. Of course, I'm a little biased against all the equipment replacing actual musicians. The performance was interesting simply for the one man show factor and there were some pretty good musical parts, but as a whole it was fairly average.
