I planned on camping out at Stubb's all night mainly to see R.E.M., so I figured I'd get familiar with some of the acts that are opening and bought Johnathan's album: Further North. I listened to the album several times and thought "this is pretty good."

I was surprised to see how young Johnathan looked when he walked out onto the stage. He's 24, but looks like he's 18. Which is no big deal except the rest of the band looked like the record label hired these pro-musicians who were clearly a lot older than Johnathan. Or maybe they weren't. Maybe his youthfulness made them look older. The point is, it didn't look right.

The show was good. They played a lot of songs off of Further North including "Middle of the Road" "We're all stuck out in the desert..." "Further North" "End of the Affair." They played a cover song that sounded familiar but I couldn't place the name of it. The chorus went "They call me a breeze...and I keep blowing down the road." Johnathan comes across like his music, some what mellow. Although, I rated the show 3 stars (because we can't rate in ½ stars) it was more like 3 ½ stars.
